This was our first commercial to residential conversion. Originally a shop with living space behind and above, this property had been empty for over 5 years. It was leaky and damp and deteriorating fast. We obtained planning permission and converted it into three apartments, one on each floor. The ground and first floor apartments have two bedrooms and the top floor is a one bed apartment. The great thing about this is that two of the three apartments have outside space. The ground floor apartment has a courtyard and the first floor apartment has a lovely garden.
There’s a lot involved in a conversion and we definitely learnt a lot on this project! Frustratingly we were let down by a builder who left some significant issues for us to clear up … but we we’re always determined to make sure we put things right if they ever go wrong, so that’s what we did.
